Deimos – Perigeo

The Perigeo project was born with the aim of developing an autonomous parafoil and other infrastructures to support research and testing for new technologies for Earth’s experimentation of equipment to be used in space.

Effective testing of space technologies on Earth

A variety of feasible technologies are still not being used in space missions because of the risk, as they can’t be tested in an operational environment. Affordable systems for testing them favor space science development.

Visualization of airflow around an autonomous parafoil, showing helicity vortex and flow patterns, with a color gradient indicating different velocity levels.

Autonomous cargo delivery and landing

Besides space experimentation, the autonomous parafoil has other applications such as precise cargo delivery and aircraft/UAV landing. Powered by the Veronte Autopilot, it can accurately position a cargo on a target area.

A private and public shareholder consortium

The project includes various companies: Elecnor Deimos, Embention, GMV, Aernnova, TCP, Ixion, Aerlyper and SCR; together with research organizations: INTA, UPM, IG, IMDEA, CTA, CATEC, AICIA, etc. all this financed by CDTI.
