The innovative design permits morphing inflight between a helicopter and a fixed wing. It can perform take-off, land and hover flights in helicopter mode and perform cruise flights in a fixed-wing configuration with a smooth transition.

Autonomous flight & inflight morphing

Veronte control electronics provide fully autonomous flight capabilities for VTOL and fixed-wing flight modes together with automatic morphing between helicopter and plane and installing a clutch system for engine power transmission.

Inflight phase change

A typical mission includes dedicated control phases starting with take-off as a helicopter with folded wings, once in the air, the fixed wing transition starts with a change from rotor to propeller. Inverse transition can be performed at any time.

Embention participates in the project jointly with INTA (Spanish National Institute of Aerospace Technology) to develop this unique aircraft layout with inflight autonomous morphing capabilities and autonomous operation.
